Advertised by DMA Yachting, the majestic charter yacht Southern Queen is a 54 ft sailing catamaran. The most valuable elements of Southern Queen are her well-chosen interiors and interconnection with the sea. Southern Queen spends the season in Antarctica. She was delivered by recognized shipbuilder Bali Catamarans in 2021. The expansive yacht layout features 5 large cabins and comfortably accommodates a maximum of 10 guests.
Southern Queen is presented primarily as a sailing catamaran. The yacht layout radiates from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and that's where most of the meals are served. The immersive cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. Multiple portholes connect you with the outside world.

MEET THE CREW!!
Captain Simon and Chef Paula
Captain Simon: Simon was raised on the South coast of South Africa. Growing up at the sea lead to a childhood heavily involved with water sports. Simon is an avid scuba diver and free diver, although his first love has always been surfing. He played waterpolo for his high school and university and after graduating he worked as an airline pilot for 6 years in Africa and the Middle East.
A sailing holiday with friends in 2017 inspired him to obtain his Yachtmaster license. The sailing life then took ahold, and Simon has been working on boats ever since. Starting out as a deckhand on a 38 meter sail boat in France, Simon went on to become a lead skipper for a flotilla company in the Mediterranean, and has done two Atlantic crossings delivering new Leopard catamarans to their owners.
Simon also has a passion for cooking, hosting and entertaining, and is very excited to show you some amazing spots around the Caribbean
Chef Paula: Paula grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden, surrounded by food and cooking, with a dad who’s a chef and a mom with a huge passion for baking. Her own culinary journey started when she was 14 years old and got her her first job at the local french café in Gothenburg. Her culinary journey took her to some amazing places, where she met the most amazing people, gave her some irreplaceable experiences and of course, introduced her to the yachting industry.
In 2017 she applied for Quarterdeck Hostess Academy. Now 5 seasons later, she has developed a great experience in cooking and her presentation. All the time she has spent in the service industry has resulted in good service and finesse. Her way of working contributes to a successful and fun charter, her happy and caring personality makes you feel as if you were home at your grandmothers place! How can you say no to that?

Growing up at the sea lead to a childhood heavily involved with water sports. Simon is an avid scuba diver and free diver, although his first love has always been surfing. He played waterpolo for his high school and university and after graduating he worked as an airline pilot for 6 years in Africa and the Middle East. <br /> <br /> A sailing holiday with friends in 2017 inspired him to obtain his Yachtmaster license. The sailing life then took ahold, and Simon has been working on boats ever since. Starting out as a deckhand on a 38 meter sail boat in France, Simon went on to become a lead skipper for a flotilla company in the Mediterranean, and has done two Atlantic crossings delivering new Leopard catamarans to their owners. <br /> <br /> Simon also has a passion for cooking, hosting and entertaining, and is very excited to show you some amazing spots around the Caribbean<br /> <br /> Chef Paula: Paula grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden, surrounded by food and cooking, with a dad who’s a chef and a mom with a huge passion for baking. Her own culinary journey started when she was 14 years old and got her her first job at the local french café in Gothenburg. Her culinary journey took her to some amazing places, where she met the most amazing people, gave her some irreplaceable experiences and of course, introduced her to the yachting industry. <br /> <br /> In 2017 she applied for Quarterdeck Hostess Academy. Now 5 seasons later, she has developed a great experience in cooking and her presentation. All the time she has spent in the service industry has resulted in good service and finesse. The boat is new and luxurious and gorgeous, and the USVIs are breathtaking. But more than the setting, what really blew us away, was our crew. Paula and Simon turned this into the trip of a lifetime. We were Paula’s first all-vegan charter but you would have thought she was a completely vegan chef. Every single meal was 5-star quality. We are so spoiled now. How will we ever eat well again without Paula?? Right off the bat, you get the sense that Simon is just one of those people who is extraordinarily capable and can do anything. There was a storm our first day with very rough seas but we weren’t concerned even for a second. We trusted his judgement and skill without hesitation right off the bat. Growing up at the sea lead to a childhood heavily involved with water sports. Simon is an avid scuba diver and free diver, although his first love has always been surfing. He played waterpolo for his high school and university and after graduating he worked as an airline pilot for 6 years in Africa and the Middle East. <br /> <br /> A sailing holiday with friends in 2017 inspired him to obtain his Yachtmaster license. The sailing life then took ahold, and Simon has been working on boats ever since. Starting out as a deckhand on a 38 meter sail boat in France, Simon went on to become a lead skipper for a flotilla company in the Mediterranean, and has done two Atlantic crossings delivering new Leopard catamarans to their owners. <br /> <br /> Simon also has a passion for cooking, hosting and entertaining, and is very excited to show you some amazing spots around the Caribbean<br /> <br /> Chef Paula: Paula grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden, surrounded by food and cooking, with a dad who’s a chef and a mom with a huge passion for baking. Her own culinary journey started when she was 14 years old and got her her first job at the local french café in Gothenburg. Her culinary journey took her to some amazing places, where she met the most amazing people, gave her some irreplaceable experiences and of course, introduced her to the yachting industry. <br /> <br /> In 2017 she applied for Quarterdeck Hostess Academy. Now 5 seasons later, she has developed a great experience in cooking and her presentation. All the time she has spent in the service industry has resulted in good service and finesse.
