GROOVY is a Robertson and Caine Leopard 44 ft. catamaran based in the Grenadines. The crew and yacht have been sailing the southern Windward Islands for the past seven more more years on all inclusive and half board crewed charters.

Groovy is an excellent sailing catamaran with forward seating area when sailing, tender for watersports and knowledgeable crew.

Inside, Groovy is equipped with air conditioning and fans throughout and a spacious open plan dining and cockpit area. Accommodation comprises of two queen cabins ensuite as well as a twin cabin ensuite, which is ideal for two or three children (or two adults) sharing. The third cabin bed can be made into a double. The crew use the fourth ensuite berth.

On deck, the forward cushions, large cockpit and forward seating area offer ample space for lounging whether in the sun or the shade. In addition, the onboard commercial ice maker, multiple drinks coolers, good refrigeration (especially for ice cream!) and a large BBQ are amenities that make Groovy the an ideal boat for an unforgettable vacation!

Represented by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht Groovy is a 43 ft sailing catamaran. The most appealing features of Groovy are her absolute comfort and interconnection with the sea. Groovy spends the season in Antarctica. She was constructed by the famous yacht builder Robertson and Caine in 2011. The spacious yacht layout features 4 cozy cabins and comfortably accommodates up to 7 guests.

Groovy is offered primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is generous, with a prominent dining and seating area and that's where most of the meals are served. The immersive cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). The cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. Multiple portholes connect you with the outside world.

The sailboat features 2 x yanmar 40Hp & 1 x 5KW generator engines and a generator.

Captain Steve
Steve’s sailing experience goes back to when he was a wee lad (childhood) as a cadet in Royal Australian Naval Reserve Cadets, competing and even winning junior class sailing regattas. His professional career led him to the waterfront where he could combine his work with his passion. Being a surfer, wakeboarder, scuba diver and general water man leads to becoming involved in the water-sports business in tourism and studying for maritime commercial licenses.

Moving on to a more serious professional life of responsibilities he takes on a position as Brisbane city ferry boat captain. After a few years of this routine lifestyle his adventurous spirit leads him to new opportunities, leaving Australia he ends up in Greece, sailing the Greek islands as a charter yacht skipper. It is in Greece that he discovers kiteboarding and very quickly he becomes one of the first kitesurfers on Kos island.

After Greece, Steve and Monika took the challenge of a Transatlantic on board Groovy. Having sailed through the Grenadines for many seasons prior, they have the opportunity to share their local knowledge of the area to take you to the best secluded beaches, snorkeling and diving locations, and private anchorages.

While Steve has the qualifications and experience to keep his boat to the highest of standards, his style of skippering is informal and he has the flexibility to change itineraries as and when is required. He prefers being on the sea to on land, enjoys meeting new people and of course exploring new locations along the way.

Chef / Hostess: Monika
Monika's dream and a passion for travelling to exotic locations lead to her choice of studies, tourist industries, enabling her to enter into a professional career in tourism to see the world. After graduation, she left Poland to work and live in various countires. Her path begins in Tunisia leading to France and Cape Verde. It's on Sal Island in 2008 that she discovers kiting and later, sailing. She has travelled a lot of the world including Africa and Asia working as a tour leader for 10 years.

She was also previously a nanny and incredibly good at entertaining children. For 6 years before she and Steve started chartering and sailing together, she worked aboard large luxury yachts as a chef and gained experience as a deckhand and hostess.

Monika is a fantastic host and her food and meals are always fresh and well presented with no worries about catering for special diets, gluten-free or any other food restrictions.

Working together as The Dream Team, Steve and Monika draw on their experience of year's of freelance work on different boats to set-up and maintain Groovy so that guests can all have an easy and pleasant trip. Combined with Monika's delectable food and Steve's amazing sense of humour, sailing expertise, any guest is bound to have an amazing vacation.

The crew and yacht have been sailing the southern Windward Islands for the past seven more more years on all inclusive and half board crewed charters. Groovy is an excellent sailing catamaran with forward seating area when sailing, tender for watersports and knowledgeable crew. Inside, Groovy is equipped with air conditioning and fans throughout and a spacious open plan dining and cockpit area. Accommodation comprises of two queen cabins ensuite as well as a twin cabin ensuite, which is ideal for two or three children (or two adults) sharing. The third cabin bed can be made into a double. The crew use the fourth ensuite berth. On deck, the forward cushions, large cockpit and forward seating area offer ample space for lounging whether in the sun or the shade. In addition, the onboard commercial ice maker, multiple drinks coolers, good refrigeration (especially for ice cream!) and a large BBQ are amenities that make Groovy the an ideal boat for an unforgettable vacation! Being a surfer, wakeboarder, scuba diver and general water man leads to becoming involved in the water-sports business in tourism and studying for maritime commercial licenses. Moving on to a more serious professional life of responsibilities he takes on a position as Brisbane city ferry boat captain. After a few years of this routine lifestyle his adventurous spirit leads him to new opportunities, leaving Australia he ends up in Greece, sailing the Greek islands as a charter yacht skipper. It is in Greece that he discovers kiteboarding and very quickly he becomes one of the first kitesurfers on Kos island. After Greece, Steve and Monika took the challenge of a Transatlantic on board Groovy. Having sailed through the Grenadines for many seasons prior, they have the opportunity to share their local knowledge of the area to take you to the best secluded beaches, snorkeling and diving locations, and private anchorages. While Steve has the qualifications and experience to keep his boat to the highest of standards, his style of skippering is informal and he has the flexibility to change itineraries as and when is required. He prefers being on the sea to on land, enjoys meeting new people and of course exploring new locations along the way. Chef / Hostess: Monika Monika's dream and a passion for travelling to exotic locations lead to her choice of studies, tourist industries, enabling her to enter into a professional career in tourism to see the world. After graduation, she left Poland to work and live in various countires. Her path begins in Tunisia leading to France and Cape Verde. It's on Sal Island in 2008 that she discovers kiting and later, sailing. She has travelled a lot of the world including Africa and Asia working as a tour leader for 10 years. She was also previously a nanny and incredibly good at entertaining children. For 6 years before she and Steve started chartering and sailing together, she worked aboard large luxury yachts as a chef and gained experience as a deckhand and hostess. Monika is a fantastic host and her food and meals are always fresh and well presented with no worries about catering for special diets, gluten-free or any other food restrictions. Working together as The Dream Team, Steve and Monika draw on their experience of year's of freelance work on different boats to set-up and maintain Groovy so that guests can all have an easy and pleasant trip. The best snorkeling sessions, Steve helping Mermaid Martha to spot lobsters, longish, osprey diving and catching fish, rays, manta ray, a whale and all the rest. Wake-SUP-surfing behind the dinghy, catching Barracuda, filleting Barracuda! Clining Conch shells and even all the girls enjoying aubergine! It was the most fun-packed, action filled week ever. With in 15 minutes of sailing Steve get caught 3 Barracuda. One we through back and kept the other two. One hour later a pod of dolphin. Approximately 30 dolphins that swam by our boat for 15-20 minutes. What an inspiration to see those majestic animals. The 8 hours sail turned into 10 and we were thrilled with smooth seas. The blue skyies and sun beating down warmed our hearts after the cold snows in USA. We spend the holidays with Monika and Steve and the memories made are numerous! We played games like Code Names, Dummy Rummy, ….and of course Steves Drinking Game. Monika took us to Christmas Mass in Mayreau at Immaculate Conception when the parish was on FIRE with the Holly Spirit and Father playing TRUE and FALSE with us. The choir was uplifting. The tamborine was always on key the choir not so much. The singe of peace lasted 5 minutes with everyone hugging. SO FUN! The night before Christmas Eve was spent with Black Boy & Debbie eating lobster with our feet in the sand. Yummy. We could go on and on but space prevents us from rambling. Before I close I must mention Tobago Cays watching the kite surfers in the most incredible Turquoise water we ever seen. Steve kept us entertained with stories, helped us learn sailing and taking care of the best fishing in the sea, introducing us to new cultures Monika, she was AMAIZING. The food was incredible. One of the most delicious meals was the Barracuda that we caught earlier. The fresh fruit from the islands was perfect for the side or for desert. She always had a hot cup…or java ready in the morning, snacks just when we were ravenous …and served us the most delectable, healthy, satisfying food the entire cruise. Our cruise with Steve and Monika was a trip of a life time. Their kindness humor and attentiveness brought our family closer together than ever. As we stared at the stars every evening, we feel we have added two stars to our lives .. His professional career led him to the waterfront where he could combine his work with his passion. Being a surfer, wakeboarder, scuba diver and general water man leads to becoming involved in the water-sports business in tourism and studying for maritime commercial licenses. Moving on to a more serious professional life of responsibilities he takes on a position as Brisbane city ferry boat captain. After a few years of this routine lifestyle his adventurous spirit leads him to new opportunities, leaving Australia he ends up in Greece, sailing the Greek islands as a charter yacht skipper. It is in Greece that he discovers kiteboarding and very quickly he becomes one of the first kitesurfers on Kos island. After Greece, Steve and Monika took the challenge of a Transatlantic on board Groovy. Having sailed through the Grenadines for many seasons prior, they have the opportunity to share their local knowledge of the area to take you to the best secluded beaches, snorkeling and diving locations, and private anchorages. While Steve has the qualifications and experience to keep his boat to the highest of standards, his style of skippering is informal and he has the flexibility to change itineraries as and when is required. He prefers being on the sea to on land, enjoys meeting new people and of course exploring new locations along the way. Chef / Hostess: Monika Monika's dream and a passion for travelling to exotic locations lead to her choice of studies, tourist industries, enabling her to enter into a professional career in tourism to see the world. After graduation, she left Poland to work and live in various countires. Her path begins in Tunisia leading to France and Cape Verde. It's on Sal Island in 2008 that she discovers kiting and later, sailing. She has travelled a lot of the world including Africa and Asia working as a tour leader for 10 years. She was also previously a nanny and incredibly good at entertaining children. For 6 years before she and Steve started chartering and sailing together, she worked aboard large luxury yachts as a chef and gained experience as a deckhand and hostess. Monika is a fantastic host and her food and meals are always fresh and well presented with no worries about catering for special diets, gluten-free or any other food restrictions. Working together as The Dream Team, Steve and Monika draw on their experience of year's of freelance work on different boats to set-up and maintain Groovy so that guests can all have an easy and pleasant trip.
