Sip Sip Yacht Description

Sip Sip

Ideally suited for charter, this Lagoon 62 offers an open, convivial layout and ample space for relaxation both on and below deck. Stepping into Sip Sip’s teak-decked cockpit, you’ll find large banks of seating, a wet bar and a spacious table for al fresco dining. Wide, well-protected passageways provide easy access to the bow area where you can lay back and unwind, suspended over crystal-clear water. Returning aft, a neat companionway leads up to the flybridge where, in addition to seating and sun pads, you’ll find a drinks cooler and pilot station with twin helms . With spectacular views from its elevated position, this is the perfect place to enjoy sundowners feeling you’re on top of the world.
Inside the full-beam saloon, wrap around windows create a light and airy atmosphere with two separate seating areas. Adjustable coffee tables raise and fold out, joining together so they can be used for dining, served from the galley hidden away below deck. This yacht has been designed to maximize both luxurious comfort and connection with the outside world, and each queen-sized bed is raised up to provide far-reaching views across the water. All cabins have been finished to a high standard and have beneath-bed storage, hanging space and dedicated ensuites. The master cabin is particularly spacious with a private relaxation area containing a sofa and television, plus an additional screen beside the bed. Launched in 2010, Sip Sip underwent a substantial mechanical refit in 2020, which included the installation of new engines, generator and air conditioning units, and her interior has also received extensive refurbishment.

Advertised by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht Sip Sip is a 62 ft sailing catamaran. The key elements of Sip Sip are her well-chosen interiors and interconnection with the sea. Sip Sip spends the season in Antarctica. She was delivered by the famous yacht builder Lagoon in 2010. A comprehensive refit was finalized in 2020. The well-planned yacht layout features 3 large cabins and comfortably accommodates a group of 6 guests.

Sip Sip is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The central space of the yacht is the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck is where heart of the yacht is and that's where most of the delicious meals are served. The tasteful cabins are located below the main saloon, connected by stairs (inquire about handicapped access). The cabins offer unbeatable views in the morning and are located just below deck. Multiple portholes provide a connection with the natural world outside.

and a generator.

Corne December 2022-January 2023
Corné Francois Coetzee

South African born Corné is an experienced sailor who has worked on yachts since 2015. He spent his first few years in the industry on sightseeing and charter yachts in his native country, later venturing further afield to Kenya and the Chagos Islands, followed by a two-handed voyage which took him from South Africa to Namibia, St Helena and Brazil before reaching the Caribbean. Since then, he has widened his experience by skippering a charter yacht based in Italy’s Aeolian Islands.
In addition to possessing all-round yacht maintenance and engineering knowledge, Corné is a qualified Yachtmaster and has also taught RYA yachting courses. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, surfing, dinghy sailing, snorkelling and wind foiling, and enjoys teaching and assisting guests with all forms of water sports. Corné always takes pride in a job well done and works hard to ensure his guests experience the best possible holiday.

Christian Klopper from February 2023 onwards
Having grown up by the sea, on South Africa’s Western Cape, a career on the water seemed a natural step for Chris whose first role in yachting was with a sailing academy. After completing his captain’s qualification, he conducted deliveries and worked as a bosun before joining the charter industry with his long-term partner Lida. Chris is an all-round water sports enthusiast who enjoys surfing, kite surfing and wakeboarding. He is also an experienced Dive Master who loves to spend time leading guests on tours of the underwater world.
Over the last four years, Chris and Lida have worked on charter boats in some of the most luxurious destination in the world, including the Maldives and the Caribbean, and they are particularly knowledgeable about the BVIs. The couple enjoy working together as team, easily anticipating each other’s needs, and sharing a desire to take the best possible care of guests to ensure their holidays exceed expectations.

Mindy - December 20022 -January 2023
Mindy grew up in Charleston, South Carolina. She is a naturalist, an adventurous explorer, a sailor and an Ashburton trained Chef. As first mate she has sailed the San Blas Islands, the thorny passage, and Crossed the Panama Canal. Mindy has worked as a yacht chef for over three years in Bahamas, Dry Tortugas Key West, USVI and now BVI. She was trained by Michelin Star Chefs at Ashburton Culinary School in the United Kingdom. She enjoys cooking a variety of dishes; American, Italian, Mediterranean, Thai, Indian and especially Southern comfort foods. In her off time she loves to snorkel with turtles, SUP, Kitesurf, beachcomb, hike ruins or play scrabble! She owns a 28’ San Juan monohulled that she enjoys sailing in her off season. Mindy has a gentle southern charm that allows you to relax, laugh, be close to nature and feel right at home with a full belly and a refreshing cocktail in hand. She loves to add that extra touch to make
sure families and friends onboard are making memories that last a lifetime! Mindy holds a USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with STCW endorsement and a Yacht Chef Certificate from Ashburton Culinary School. She is working towards a Captains license.

Lida Fourie - February 2023 onward
Lida grew up in the same town as Chris and primarily worked in hospitality as a waitress, bar manager and chef before she joined him in yachting. Professionally trained in fine dining catering, by the Ashburton School in London, Lida is an experienced yacht chef who strives to meet her guests’ wide-ranging culinary requirements. She enjoys sourcing the best quality ingredients from local ports to produce creative and well-balanced menus and is always keen to meet individual guest needs. Whatever style of food she’s asked to cook, Lida is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure memorable meals for all.
