UHURU Yacht Description
Represented by DMA Yachting, the astonishing charter yacht UHURU is a 57 ft sailing catamaran. The key elements of UHURU are her elegant profile and culinary experience. UHURU spends the season in Antarctica. She was constructed by the renowned boatbuilder Van Peteghem-Lauriot Prevost in 1999. A comprehensive refit was completed in 2014/2019. The ingenious yacht layout features 3 generous cabins and easily accommodates a group of 6 guests.
UHURU is classified primarily as a sailing catamaran. The yacht layout radiates from the main saloon, which connects to the aft deck. The aft deck features a variety of seating areas and that's where most of the meals are served. The modern cabins offer designer mattrace beds and feature ensuite bathrooms. The cabins are connected by stairs to the main saloon - roomy, comfortable and pleasant. Multiple portholes supply a sunny feeling, with the option for darkness and privacy.

Price Terms
Plus Expenses - add APA to the price you see
Plus Expenses arrangement includes the boat and crew only (without tip).
All additional/variable expenses such as Gas and Food are deducted from an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) - an additional deposit that is added on top of the charter price.
The expenses, such as provisioning, fuel, marina fees, are deducted from the APA. The APA is based on the price of the yacht and ranges from 15% (crewed sailing yachts) to 30% (motor yachts with higher fuel consumption).
For a sailing catamaran like UHURU, the expected APA is 20% to 35% of the charter price (€2,400 - €4,200), making the charter cost €14,400 to €16,200. Exact amount will be confirmed after inquiry.
You can actively control these expenses in your preference sheet (local vs. imported beverages) and by choice of itinerary (distances traveled).
The remainder of the APA is returned after charter.

The captain of Uhuru, Renato Marchesan, was born in Florence in 1953. Driven by a strong passion for the sea, at the age of 18 he moves to Punta Ala.
